How to Obtain FIRE NOC

  • Mandatory for all high-rise buildings (above 16.5 meters) and special structures such as malls, theatres, auditoriums, and other public buildings.

Procedure:

  • Submit building plans prepared as per fire safety norms to the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) for review, suggestions, and approval.
  • After receiving the CFO’s letter, detailed plans must be submitted to the local authority for sanction.
  • Prior to obtaining Building Use (BU) permission, a FIRE NOC application must be submitted to the CFO. The next stage includes inspection and testing by the Fire Department as per NBC standards, after which the FIRE NOC is issued.
  • Timeline: Approximately 1 week for opinion approval and up to 1 month for NOC issuance.
  • Note: FIRE NOC renewal is required once every year.
